Jubilee House is a new MVS unit opening in Elkhart, Indiana as a ministry of Prairie Street Mennonite Church (PSMC). It takes its mission from Luke 4:18-19to bring good news to the poor, to proclaim freedom to the oppressed and release to the captives, to bring recovery of sight to the blind, to proclaim the year of jubilee. Jubilee House is located adjacent to PSMC and is a five-minute walk from the Elkhart city-center. Below is more information on service positions, PSMC and Elkhart.

Service opportunities
In addition to work with Church Community Services and Center for Community Justice, participants can volunteer in the following opportunities:
Immigration Counselor, Catholic Charities: The immigration counselor will help clients navigate the immigration process and educate the community about immigration rights. Responsibilities include conducting assessment interviews, preparing immigration applications and assisting with case management and other office tasks.
Micro-enterprise Program Coordinator, ASSETS Elkhart County: The program coordinator assists people with an entrepreneurial spirit through this faith-based training program. Responsibilities include program administration, marketing, community relations and fundraising.
Neighborhood Planner, Elkhart Housing Partnership: The neighborhood planner will help to revitalize the Morehaus neighborhood. Responsibilities include planning community building activities, completing a building survey, and assisting with selecting and purchasing homes for renovation.
Prairie Street Mennonite Church
PSMC has been involved in south-central Elkhart for 135 years and is one of the oldest urban Mennonite congregations in the U.S. Throughout its history, PSMC has helped develop several Mennonite institutions, including Goshen College, Mennonite Mission Network and Mennonite Central Committee. They are actively involved in several neighborhood ministries, including tutoring children at Roosevelt Elementary Schools, teaching English as a second language and feeding the hungry through Church Community Services. PSMC is committed to the future of the Elkhart community of which Jubilee House is now a part.
